dude I work at spr racing we specialize in building yzf r125 race bikes and also stock and hone these kits. They can be honed lining is steel diasil or nicosil would be torn apart by the pressure that the oil ring is holding back. diasil and nicosil are used in 2 strokes now please do not try and tell me I am wrong I suggest you go into your local yamaha dealer and ask them because you are making yourself look a tit I build repair dyno test modify bikes all day long and have done for 6 years at spr racing and we specialise in these bikes I fit big bore kits day in day out and we do honing and rebores. they can be honed but if over spec by more than 0.1m oversized piston and oil rings are needed. Any more than this and oversize piston is needed aswell.
    goodday to you

no if you read properly you remove the burnt on piston with the wet and dry I do it with my yz all the time when it needs new piston. as Im not paying somebody 200 quid to hone it and get my hatching back when I can do it myself

The real problem is Motobum buy a item that the seller not the first owner of the product say is in good condition, motobum receive the item and wasn't in good conditions so he have the right of a refund. and who cares about the job you say you have maybe you work in a racing company clean the floor job, for what i see you just sell used parts and try make money buy and sell stuffs. Motobum have right to say refund me. other talk about re-bore etc is totally bullshiiiit. And if i was the seller of this item i will not say i don't have any responsability talk to the guy that sell me the product in ebay. if Jay was trick by other guy it's is problem not motobum. Jay already say he will refund Motobum and i can understand very well motobum because if was my money i will not be happy if my refund take too long because that money was join for a big bore kit not to put in trash. people sometime forget that maybe others have the same problem of collect money too.

if it was nikosil it would not last even 10000 miles on the standard bore it would wear to quickly

stop ruin posts with a lot of arguments that don't have anything about to the post itself. if you want to argue about bore metal diasil etc star a private conversation but please stop with too many arguments. the posts with too many arguments will end in a big mess for regular members that are in this site to find info and other stuff too.
    Thanks
A Work person will not like to be trick and will not like to have to wait too long for a refund.

Sorry, but that argument was funny to read. I think you missed the part where he said Al= aluminium Steel. Or Diasil.
Also Monkey, I'm very confused as to your actual engineering experience, what do you DO?
When two big tuners are arguing, google boys are not a welcome addition ;)
